JiMi Electronics & Huayu Battery: Powering Safe Sodium-Ion Batteries
2026/06/18
On June 16, Zhang Yu and his delegation from the China Chemical and Physical Power Industry Association visited Huayu Battery for an in-depth symposium on the development of sodium-ion batteries.
Chen Jian, President of the Huayu Battery New Energy Research Institute, stated that the company's self-developed polyanionic sodium-ion batteries offer both high safety and low cost. After scaled production, the raw material cost can be reduced to RMB 10,000 per ton. Currently, the "JiNa S" sodium-ion battery has been mass-produced and is compatible with fast-charging systems, with widespread application in Xi'an, Southwest China, and other regions.
Regarding market deployment, Huayu will leverage Yadea's distribution channels to prioritize the launch of its sodium-ion battery and integrated solar-storage-charging projects in Southeast Asia. Additionally, the company aims to capture the incremental market for two-wheelers in the high-altitude and cold regions of northern China.
As a leading supplier of insulation materials for new energy, JiMi Electronics will keep pace with Huayu Battery's industrialization of sodium-ion batteries, providing them with high-quality insulation protection solutions.
Addressing the stringent safety requirements of sodium-ion batteries in fast-charging systems and integrated solar-storage-charging projects, JiMi Electronics' high-performance, heat-resistant, and flame-retardant insulation materials can effectively ensure the stable operation of cells and battery packs in extreme environments. Looking ahead, JiMi Electronics anticipates deepening cooperation with Huayu Battery across the upstream and downstream industry chain. By providing premium material support, JiMi Electronics aims to empower the global expansion and domestic market growth of sodium-ion products, jointly contributing to the high-quality development of the new energy industry.
